Parent Meeting and Coffee

March 16, 2017

The Foundation team held a parent coffee and general session on March 9th.  The meeting was attended by over 40 parents, numerous faculty members and some very special guests.

Let's start with the very special guests.  We were delighted to have our Kindergarten class led by Mrs. Sugarman and Mrs. Ruppert provide a preview of their upcoming class play.  The perfect teaser to get crowds flocking to the school next week to see their show.   Following their performance, the Second Grade class led by Mrs. David and Mrs. Streitman provided an encore performance from the recent class play, Alice's Adventures with Idioms.  We were so lucky to have them both perform and thank them for their time!

The Foundation team then presented an update on our fundraising and program enhancements for this school year.  With a very successful year underway we have raised over $100,000 and spent close to that enhancing the children's learning experiences and our school.   Attached is the presentation we shared that looks at our work and thoughts for upcoming projects. Did you know the Foundation had made major investments in the Art and Science program, Technology program, Health and Wellness of our children and created Service Learning opportunities for them?  Have you seen and enjoyed our efforts in community building and our appreciation of the faculty at the school?  If not please visit our website to learn more about how we are working to support our children and our school.

The meeting concluded with a Q&A session that generated many good ideas and discussions ranging from parking to planting.  The parent community offered great ideas and Dr. McDuffie addressed questions on the upcoming plans for the school and facilities.  In all it was a great event and the Foundation would like to thank all those who attended for taking the time to help make us better at what we do.
