We are continuing our diversity celebration with another year of Breaking Bread!
Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.
We will kick things off by welcoming UCSD’s Premier Bhangra Team, Da Real Punjabiz, who will be giving our students a special performance at all three campuses on May 21st.
Following this presentation, our students will enjoy one of their favorite events of the year: Breaking Bread! A staple in most cultures, bread takes on many different forms around the world, from tortillas to bao buns to homemade biscuits and so much more. Breaking Bread is a way for students to come together and learn that our cultures are more alike than different.
For this event, we invite parents to represent their country of choice by providing ’samplings’ of their culture’s bread item to share with our students.
If bringing bread has gotten stale…bring a sip to share! New for this year, we’re thinking beyond bread and encourage you to bring a pitcher of a beverage specific to your culture.
A few details:
By signing up, you agree to bring your sampling of bread OR beverage as well as help serve it to our students (roughly 200).
We will be asking parents to specify allergens and will have these displayed for each bread item.
The Foundation will be providing disposable cups and plates for students.
